Hi, along with my wife I am in the process of planning a trip to SE Asia. We'll be there for around 4 months along with a month in north India/Napal (and Oz). I absolutely love my sports, playing and watching so I am interested to know what like minded people do for a fix whilst travelling in this part of the world.

Whilst travelling in South America I was able to follow sports at home closely on tv and I attended many live football matches.

I feel quite ignorant to sport in SE Asia so if anyone could enlighten me as to what to expect it would be greatly appreciated. I am prepared to go and view absolutely anything, pay whatever is reasonable and hopefully enjoy the experience on offer.

So I guess my question is basically what, where and how much and did you enjoy it?

Cheers,
Richard.

It's easy to find live sports venues with big screens in Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. Premier league football, international rugby union, ARL, NRL, Basketball - just about anything is on. 2 major sports channels are ESPN and Star Sports. Cricket is a bit more of a struggle, but it is out there.

if you want to watch some live sports head for a night of muay thai boxing.

It's no problem to see live sports in SEA, or in bars, or in your guesthouse on satellite tv.

thanks for the info so far. Just to clarify I am looking to attend sport in SEA rather than just watching on tv. Another way to immerse myself in the culture I hope.
