Hello, my friend and i are from Englan and are planning on arriving in Sydney in late september. We are on a 12 month working holiday visa and are just about to book our flights. However as part of the visa it states we have to show when we we are leaving the country. However flights are not yet out for September 2011, so can we just book one way flights and then organise our return trip during our year in Australia?
i had the same issue, i head out mid oct on a yr workin visa. i had to book flights home for may 2011 but then i will have to change them in a few months time, dont think its a major issue, it will cost about £80 to change the flight (or so im told)
hope this helps
Hey guys, apparently you have to have sufficient funds or an onward ticket.... proof of either will suffice. Because there is an option to apply for a 2nd whv after 3mths of specified work, it's condiered a waste to buy a return ticket.
This is what I have been told by the company I booked my WHV with. Hope it helps
I've just booked a one way ticket as a flexible return was just a ridiculous amount of money and I'm not sure where I'll be or when I want to leave within the year (might hate it and want to come back after a month!). I've seen threads on this before I read that it's rarely a problem, but as Charyan mentioned if you have proof of sufficient funds it should be fine.
I presumed I'd be staying in Oz for the full year of the WHV so I put the end date as that - I'm sure it changes all the time with different people, it's just a point of reference for them I guess.
