I'm looking for a photography solution, and what better a forum to ask than all over you photography professionals and enthusiasts, on Travellerspoint!
As much as I would LOVE one, I don't really want to travel with a beautiful Canon DSLR. I'd be gutted if I lost it, broke it, or worse yet - if it were stolen from me while traveling. I'm already going to be laden down with either an Apple MacBook laptop computer OR an Apple iPad; to do my online classes whilst traveling.
So, I'd basically love to utilize my iPhone as much as possible. The new one has a 5MP sensor, and I'm fine with that. I don't do anything professional with my photos, and I always end up shrinking them down to put them online, or email to friends. I have a Canon 7MP point and shoot, but still, I'm trying to travel as light as possible.
Back to my point - I came across this nifty device for the iPhone. Basically, you plug your iPhone into this 'cradle', and it allegedly gives you a slightly better shot. It only bumps it up to 37mm, but that's still better than the iPhone alone. If I lost it AND my iPhone, I'm only out a few hundred bucks, as opposed to almost an easy grand with a nice DSLR. (which I will still get one day!)
My question is, do any of you think this lens system is worth it? If they get the optical kinks out of it, (the OWLE Bubo is ready for production, but they are still working out kinks of adapting larger lenses) I'd love one!
(FYI: I'm not affiliated with these guys AT ALL, I'd just like to post a link, so you all can see what I'm talking about easily!)
Don't mind their 'DSLR' nomenclature! http://iphonedslr.com/blog/
And the original one, that's ready...I think! http://www.wantowle.com/
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
