[quote=Seany]Thats super news! And Stanstead is just £25 taxi away for me

Any idea on the kind of prices we are expecting to pay? I've always considered trying to buy a holiday home in Bulgaria, a nice little place near the sea...

All the details and prices are on their website.
I can't see the point of Plovdiv - except for skiiers. As a summer destination, it's like people wanting a beach holiday in Canada and getting a flight to Winnipeg ! !
From Plovdiv to the coast (either east towards the Black Sea, or south to Northern Greece), is hours away.

There are actually people who don't ski or like beaches. They are called travellers;)
From what I know, Plovdiv is good for a day and numerous places are just a few hours by bus or train away. It's central so it makes perfect sense to me

If they can get me there for the price of a Big Mac then that's just a walk in the park. ;)

edit: within striking distance of Istanbul even. I wonder how much the trains are?

Thats a nice 1.
It will be interesting to see who uses the Ryanair flights. Plovdiv, although being a big city (Bulgaria's 2nd largest) is right in the middle of nowhere really. I'll certainly give it a whirl to see what I can get up to - onwards, once the plane arrives.
I used Balkan Air (now defunked) to get to Plovdiv before - and it cost around £200 return from the UK. It was then another 50Levs or so for a taxi to Pamporovo.

The Plov is a nice town. Plenty to do for a weekend get away. But the real gem is Valiko Tarnovo, still only a few hours bus ride from Plovdid.
