Last night I was lucky? enough to get a free preview of the new Julia Roberts movie: 'Eat, Pray, Love'. I am giving all male TP members fair warning. Do whatever it takes to avoid going to this movie. Total chick flick: too long, too slow, too boring, no car chases, no shootouts, nothing to even remotely interest guys.

I took an informal poll after the movie was finally over. All 6 ladies I asked gave it a positive review. The 4 guys I asked wanted to flee the theater but figured their GF would not find that good form. Ladies, take your gal pals and leave your guy at home. He will thank you for your kindness.

I can sum it up in a few words, when it comes to movies I like.
If it's a Hollywood film - it's junk.

I'm a "chick" and even I don't really care to see this one. Then again, I like car chases and shoot-outs. Give me a good vampire movie and I'm in 7th heaven. Do I need o go to India to find out where that (7th heaven) is exactly?

Someone on Twitter wrote a review commenting it was nothing more than Julia Roberts' movie, hence all the press. The amount of backlash was surprising. Granted, Twitter is not my hangout but really... It's a movie. Yes, based on a real person's experiences. It's still Hollywood and Julia Roberts.

It's Julia Roberts - best reason to skip this movie.

I feel sorry for Javier Bardem though.

considering i'm still trying to get through "eat" in the book after two years, its doubtful that i'd ever step foot in the movie. thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Living in a house with 2 women, this is a clear risk for me. It sounds terrifying. Thanks for the warning Mike.
