I was watching Medium the other day (horrid show! But it was Monday night...) and one of the characters put it this way:
"Life is like the oxygen masks that fall when the pressure changes in an airplane. You have to put yours on first before you can help anybody else."
And that's some good advice. You have to give to you before you can give to others - else you'll be too empty to give anything that's worthwhile.
I have a friend who gives EVERYTHING to everyone, always spending more and doing more and staying up to the wee hours of the morning to do, do, do... yet she's exhausted. It's like she can't understand that people will be fine, just fine, if she prints the invitations a bit crooked. It's exhausting to watch her go.
Whoops, I seem to have lost track of my point! Must have needed to get that off my chest...
