Activities.

All i want are the memories of a life lived.

I'm with Gianni - culture and activities. I want to come back with tons of stories to bore people to tears with. Even the more disappointing stuff make for good memories (like La Giconda - so small! What's all the fuss about?)

I think that's why I've never taken a liking to beach vacations (although the occassional beach is fantastic...). They always leave me with this foggy memory where everything blends together.

Lazing in the sun really clears my memory ... makes way for cosmic messages to enter

History and culture would be tops...but activities are fun too! I like to learn all I can about a place before I go so I can fully understand it. When I get there I try and see how the locals are and try to immerse myself in their culture...walk around a bit away from the tourist spots , etc. And of course, take lots of pictures!

Cheers,
Katie ;)

Bit of everything really. Nowadays I dont choose beforehand. On my early travels i certainly wanted to go to travelling to visit famous places like the Andes and Inca Ruins. And along the way you pick up the history, culture, and try activities anyway. As time has gone on, i usually just set out now and see what happens. I find that's the most rewarding way to travel. Because in that state of mind, you're open to anything and often seem to take in things better than if you're in a tunnel vision of what you "intended" to do. Many more local friends are made in this way also. And from that, better insight into all aspects of a country. Social, political, culinary, history etc.
