I live in Antwerp and want to know what the best city is/cities are for shopping around this part of Europe. I am thinking of a journey time from Antwerp of around 2 hours or less, although I may go further if it is worth it. I've been to Köln, Brussel and Breda but I haven't yet ventured as far as places like Düsseldorf, Eindhoven, Maastricht, or Lille etc.
For the particular trip we'd like to take soon we are looking for clothes and shoes. Antwerp offers a lot of stuff but is very expensive so we want somewhere with choice and value.
Any advice greatly appreciated!
I would recommend London, a two hour train ride from Brussels!
I just came back yesterday evening, and like every year, it was awesome. The perfect short trip for a combination of culture, shopping, atmosphere,...

Thanks for your suggestion. I have first-hand experience of shopping in London as I used to live there!! I have to say I do not like London though, although living in London and visiting London are very different from each other.
I get a free car with free petrol through work so I'm looking for somewhere in driving distance of Antwerp, rather than via train. I apologise because I should've mentioned that in my post.
If you have a car, say... Rotterdam!
Great shopping with a lot of alternative shops, and the awesome architecture (old and contempory) is a plus!
Amsterdam. Less than two hours from Antwerpen Centraal by train.
Thanks flyingbob. I was there last weekend - my best friend lives there so we don't often go shopping... and nor are we likely to!
Thanks for the tip, I'll remember it for when I go next. I'm still discovering many of the cities delights - although I wouldn't call shopping a delight!
