inserting an url

Travel Forums System Talk inserting an url

How do I insert an url without showing the whole address of the site I'm referring to.

I click on the 'url'-button above my typed text, copy/paste the 'http' address in it, and when I submit my post, I see the whole address instead of only the brand or country or whatever I want to refer to.

I normally highlight a word in the text, click the 'Url' button, then paste the link address straight into the box, click OK and it's done - though I have heard that sometimes this doesn't work.

You should do what you describe above, then add word(s) (about what it is, for example 'Paris in summer') and then click the url again. The second time you should click the 'url' button it should look like '/url' in the buttons above your post.

For example google.nl ;)

This is usually what I do too. Though you could type, hit the URL button, add in the link in the pop up, then type the words that should be the link, then hit the URL button again (it will say /URL now).

Alternatively you can also do it wiki style: [[http://www.travellerspoint.com|Travellerspoint]]

Counted the actions and it's the same, though it's good to know these things. ;)
