I want to travel to the Middle Eastern countries and I plan especially to spend about one month in Iran in late April. I do not know exactly about the situation of Iran now and I do not have any comprehensive information regarding this country.
I will be glad if anyone tell me his own idea of this country, its attractions, safety and any suggestion or opinion.
Iran is a very safe country, sure.
People is fantastic.
You will enjoy there.
This is Roger from India. I will be visiting Iran in mid June(12th to 14th) and wud cover Tehran and Esfahan..R u still vacationing in Iran?
I am going to India during holidays :-)
Anyway, don't worry about Iran, people are fantastic.
I am half Iranian myself and I have been travelling there for years. It is a a beautiful country and there are many wonderful people. Though culturally, it is very different to the west. Women must wear head scarves when out in public and long non-clingy clothing. When at the airport, customs are separate for men and women and it is highly secured, but it is nothing to worry about. Make sure you research enough about the cultures of the places you are going to and to be careful as you would on any of your travels. I hope this has been of use to you.xx
dont mean to sound to pro-western but is it safe given the anti american feeling at the moment.
As u said i guess life is a lot differnt to the west.
Sorry if i sound so anti iran
i liked to be proven wrong
I know what you mean, and as I'm not American, or anti-american, or ignorant, I don't feel like I can respond sufficiently. I mean my mum is English and my dad is Iranian and when we go over they know that we are from the west but usually we get big smiles and waves. I guess it's like believing everything you hear in the news. They tell you one story-and well, that's exactly it, it's just one story, but it could be that the people of Iran disagree with Somethings the Amercans do and vice versa, but I'm sure that there are those who are not out there to stereotype of judge just by what the government of that country do. It is unfortunate that people can't get to know enough about each other. I have been lucky enough to see both sides and it teaches me a lot about the person I want to be. I can't advise you to see for yourself because honestly, I don't know how an American person would go about in Iran, I'm sure just like myself or any other human being, and that's what I'd hope, but unfortunately I can not be sure. It is just a very hard time to say what will come of the relationship between the East and the West.
