How can I make a past event into a current event in the travelguide?
I added the Vuelta a Espana, started the 28th but lasts 3 weeks.

I got confused by this when I first saw it too, but basically the 'start date' stands for when you want the event to start showing on the home page. In this case, you'd set it to the 2nd of September for example and then tomorrow the guide on the home page would switch to the Vuelta one. A lot of these events can be re-used, ie. after a few days we change the Vuelta date to the starting date for next year etc. The neat thing is that over time we'll build up a pretty interesting mix of events around the world, smaller and bigger ones, local and international. Heck, maybe I can do a "Sam's yearly BBQ in his garden" event and feature Oslo :)

Lol, that'll surely be many different dates over the years. You had summer this year on a Wednesday right Sam

Anyway, but wouldn't HerrBert's idea of a beginning and ending date be a good idea to add for a specific year?
I'll try it though. Like these new things to play with on TP. Feel like a little kid again. Like always

I am having troubles linking an event to New York. It says the article doesn't exist.
So I try United States. And the article doesn't exist as well. Both exist though, but in the automatic search drop down menu it doesn't show. The same applies when adding travelhelp settings, like I mentioned before.

I think there are quite a few geographical linking problems, also regarding the photos shown of the US at the featured travelguide: it shows US Virgin Islands photos as well.

Mentioned this last one before, also in relation to the option of having more photo links in an article, righthand side on top of the toolbar. Possible?

This is due to the space. I've got a bit of a mistake there in that autocomplete, because its' loaded all the article titles with underscores. If you type in New_York, it will show up :) Will fix, but in the meanwhile that will work fine.

Ok, so this is more a problem related to how the search is done. All it does now is search for the name of the article like anyone would. So if you do a search for USA, then sure enough, the virgin islands one shows up (it's tagged as USA). I could admittedly refine this by checking if the article in question is a country and if so, also filter it by country. I suppose I can even do that for city articles based on the isIns. I'll add it to the to-do list once things have quietened down a little :)

You mean just showing a bunch of thumbnails in there? Yeah, that would seem quite nice to me as well. No real reason why that's not possible. Again - to-do list. :)

Several links in the Travel Guide are leading to an empty edit page. It ssems to be the places with accents in the name.
For example in Spain, places like Cáceres, Málaga etc are not linked to the actual articles.

Quoting Utrecht

Yep, send Peter a PM about the places with a á, é, ö etc.

This should be resolved now.

And it's indeed the featured articles only regarding the editing problem

This should probably be cleared by now. If you notice it anywhere still let me know. Might have to flush the cache.

Thanks Peter, I'll try that with the underscore.

That photo of St. Thomas is actually in the US Virgin Islands gallery, as it's tagged correctly. Or do you mean the extra tag, not the mapping?

Sorry, with the toolbar, I mentioned a link to photos of the gallery, not the thumbnails.

Cheers and hope dinner was nice;)

Checked a few in both cases, and works perfect.
Slowly everything is getting pretty awsome again! Used to the new lay-out and white screen as well.

Only thing I have found out just by using the website in the way I always did: I am MUCH less tempted to check the different forums. I see a few threads on top, and that's it. I check the ones I am moderator off and that's it.
I don't know who else has got this 'problem', but I am with many others here (like GregW mentioned about this: meh;)). Also the links to the other forums on the left would be much more logical, which leaves options at the right for adsense.

Cheers
Mike

How can I move a pm to another folder? I just created a new one, but I can not seem to find an option to do that.

Thanks. Mike

'Grab' the message by holding down your mouse, then drag it over to the folder til you see a blue color appear over the folder, and let it go :)

Well, it's not really typical web like behaviour so don't feel too bad about it :)
