The last minute hotels page never loads any information into the country selectbox for me. Just shows the "ZZZZZZZZZ" option.

On what browser is that? We've tested in FF/Safari/Opera etc. without problems. Seamonkey?

SeaMonkey indeed, but the issue was on my end; the script was loaded over SSL, but I'd removed trust permissions from the certificate authority used by ratestogo.com for their SSL certificate, and so that script never loaded (but because it was external content, I also never saw a warning about it). Sorry for not investigating further myself before reporting.

I have actually thought of one solution to this. If the country returned by Flickr is not equal to the country returned by Google, then we could make the place name actually just be the country name. The lat/lon will still be accurate, but it just won't have the detailed place name as we'd really want. Still, better than returning a whole separate country :?

that sounds like a good idea. And one can add more details about where it was taken under the info /description part of each image.
How do you report this issue to Flickr??

Sorry, never got back to you on this. Uhm, reporting to flickr seems to be done through their forum. But I had a good look the other day and had real trouble finding anyone else reporting anything, so who the heck knows.

We're working on a bit of an improvement to this. At least reverting to a country label, but maybe also reverting to the google label in the autosuggest providing it's not too long. We don't really want photos mapped to a full address, but in this case, where it's clearly fairly short I think we can probably insert it into our database as Don Det, Laos. Anyway, fix should hopefully be live quite soon.

I honestly haven't read back through all of these posts to see if this has been mentioned... (Sorry.)

Is anyone else having a problem with the "jump" aspect of the site? It's not consistent at all. I will try to "jump" from NA to CA/SA and it won't recognize it. Just sits on NA. The next time it will be from GT to NA. As I said, not consistent. Just having a real problem moving from forum to forum using the drop-down menu. I do know Kris is having the same problem. I (personally) have emptied my cache and deleted cookies again to see if that made a difference - nope.

Again, apologies if I am late to the table on this problem...

This is so odd. I've just been jumping all over the forums and I really haven't been able to replicate this. In both Chrome and Safari. When it happens, are you looking at a thread, or the list of threads for that forum?

Jumping from the forum main pages (list of threads). It hasn't happened when jumping from a specific thread. I just had it happen again moving from GT to NA. It stayed on the GT main page. I then chose RTW and it accepted that. From RTW I could jump to NA. It's very intermittent and never happens twice in a row. Though it does happen throughout the day, especially if I leave the site and then return later. I'm using Safari and Kris is using Chrome. I haven't tried with FireFox. Chalk it up to Isa breaking something else...

You couldn't bear putting the crowbar away, could you?

By the way, I did some tests and found no problem at first. But after a few more tries, I noticed that if you tried to jump before the page loads completely (incl. ads), it will not. Once the jump fails, it won't jump anymore to other forums until you refresh the page. I think some javascript failed to run when the page load got process interrupted by the jump selection. If that really is the problem, one way to solve it is to display the dropdown box only after the page is loaded completely.
