I've added the username of the thread's last poster back in to the thread list. Fairly unanimous feedback on that one!
I've also put back the alternating colours.
Both these changes mean that the thread title column is narrower by about 70px . So uhm, how do people feel about getting rid of the "Views" column?
Can still keep the information of course, just somewhere else..
I don't really care whether or not the "Views" column is there - although if anyone has a reason why it's good to be there, then perhaps this could be the thing seen on mouseover somewhere.
Good to see alternating colours, although I think the alternative colour is too light at the moment.

Something else I just noticed, is that on a forum post it no longer shows the number of posts by a user. You have to go to their profile to see that. This was something else that was useful to see at a glance when deciding on potential spam.

Oh, and also on threads and individual forums the page numbers are at both the top and bottom - whereas on the "all threads" pages they only show at the bottom. Was that intentional, as it seems inconsistent.

Actually, you can. But it's a mouseover. And if you're the mod of that forum, the post count will be displayed right next to the name. Peter, can this be shown for all mods instead of just the mods of the forum?

Thanks for that - I just checked "my" forum (Europe) and noticed that info there. Thanks for the heads up! The issue now with that is users who are able to flag posts don't see that info as they used to, which is useful in deciding to flag or not. The change isn't immediately obvious - I clicked straight through to profile without knowing about the pop-up box with user details. This is probably a minor thing that people need to get used to.

Wow, it's 12:30am on a week day and I'm still awake and checking threads.
Anyway, alternating colors are a good thing. Thanks!
More importantly, thank you for "restoring" the last poster names on the main forum pages. As far as the "views" column - it makes for interesting stats but I've never seen it as an important feature. I feel the Mods and those with "spam button powers" will be more than willing to give up a stat in favor of a "last poster username". It appears we all use that information in one way or another to make determinations on checking a thread for spam, etc. (I know I use the Mod spam page AND the last poster username every day.)
I agree with mojorob on seeing the number of posts at a glance. I realize that info is immediately visible in the forums each of us moderate but not for the ones we don't. I also realize that it would be a return to the original design. I liked having the number of posts visible across the board but am also willing to learn to live with the new roll-over version
- Note to mojorob - you don't have to go to the user's profile to find their post count. Just roll over the username at the top of their post (ie: Posted by Isadora) and a drop-down menu appears with their info and post count. It also tells you their rank. I'm not sure how it views on a PC using other browsers, but that's how it displays on a Mac using Safari.
I see Hien beat me to the roll-over thing.

* Anyway, editing in the travelguide still keeps on getting errors: everytime when saving an edit it gives an empty article including a %5 text in the articles title? Very weird, and this has been so for almost 30 hours now. Is this one that hard to fix?
I think this one is fixed now too by the way, along with another problem using the [nowiki] code.

Can we still add a profile picture? I've tried clicking on the Profile Pic, uploading a photo, but when I check My Profile, the space is still empty.

You don't have any photos at all showing on your profile. Are you sure you ticked the 'allow to show in my gallery' option when uploading? Photos that are hidden from view can't be shown as profile pics if I'm not mistaken... you should also be able to see the photos and edit these settings on your 'my photos' page.

Sam, when clicking on the link to upload profile photo, the upload page doesn't have the tag "me" automatically inserted (which I think it's meant to be). This is one cause of the problem. Secondly, I just uploaded a photo, and I did select the "Show in gallery" option. However, it's not displayed in my gallery at all. But then, if I manage my photo, it's in there. After that, I added a location to my photo. It's now displayed in my gallery! I thought location is no longer a required thing?
