Chasing down some guide bugs at the moment.

* Anyway, editing in the travelguide still keeps on getting errors: everytime when saving an edit it gives an empty article including a %5 text in the articles title? Very weird, and this has been so for almost 30 hours now. Is this one that hard to fix?
Are you still getting this. I can't reproduce, but maybe another fix has magically sorted this out too
Articles which have a subtitle in it like Canada/Via Rail Canada, or New York/Manhattan are working BUT if clicking on the link they show the main article: Canada and New York. See: New York/Manhattan.
Should be fixed now.
Not every article seems to have the possibility to edit the template sections separately, but only edit the whole article.
Can you point me to one?
Thanks Peter
Both seem to be fixed indeed. Only ones that I can not view right now are articles which have for example an öor í. There are probably around several dozens of them, like Tromso etc.
Regarding the editing completely instead of template sections: all the featured articles have this problem.
Noticed that on the right in the frontpage of the travelguide, I can not see every bullit of the 'recent edits', only the first 4 or so. When opening, it shows all though.
Something very small: when clicking a word and then adding bold text it seems that the word is not placed in the right way within the bold signs. An open space at the end is still there. Not always, but sometimes. Wasn't the case.
Other difference is that when pressing ENTER, it is usually either not working (or you have to press it twice or more) before going to another line. Or sometimes it skips a line and drops down two lines.
Cheers
Mike

Sam, when clicking on the link to upload profile photo, the upload page doesn't have the tag "me" automatically inserted (which I think it's meant to be). This is one cause of the problem. Secondly, I just uploaded a photo, and I did select the "Show in gallery" option. However, it's not displayed in my gallery at all. But then, if I manage my photo, it's in there. After that, I added a location to my photo. It's now displayed in my gallery! I thought location is no longer a required thing?
Woops, clearly the second is caused by our dropping the requirement to have a location for each photo. That should be fixed shortly.
I also just fixed the first issue of 'me' not automatically showing in the input field when clicking on that link.

* The thumbnails of the videos still are not shown and the video itself is slow as well, doesn't work fast like it used to.
The thumbnail generation appeared to have some problem during the first few hours of migration. I heard this has been fixed, but those photos uploaded during the time will remain without thumbnails.
There could also be a problem with linking the video thumbs - I'm not sure.
This was actually totally unrelated to the new design; what are the odds! It's fixed now, but let me know if you see any wonkiness with the sizes of the images...

The 'me' is now automatically inserted. Now waiting for the location thingy to be fixed.

Isn't that what I just wrote?
By the way, we're trying to reproduce the location thing, and not having any luck. For example I just uploaded the fourth photo in my gallery and it shows. There are also photos showing in Peter's gallery without a location... if you go to the management area for photos and click edit for the one you just uploaded, can you send me a screenshot of what you see?

Strange. It's definitely possible to upload a photo without a location. I did one earlier today. See here in my gallery . The top one has no location attached.

Thumbnail video seems to be fixed indeed.
few more things in relation to message box:
- It would be great that there is a function to delete all message with one click? Now I can only delete them one by one.
- This is especially annoying regarding trash, where I have 1780 posts. Nice to see them again (couldn't do that before) but I would like to delete them all.
- This trash box by the way, when opening, totally is messed up. It asks something in relation to the script or so.
Regarding travelhelp:
- I signed up for the USA and I could just start the name of the article, it would automatically come up with related names. It did, but not the United States itself (wrote it down both USA and United States). The latter gave me all the regional (midwest, south etc.) and event he US Virgin Islands, but no option of choosing the United States itself. Not sure this has anything to do with redesign though, although it is a new option.
Cheers
Mike

My comments...
Good:
Speedy loading, the banner is very cool. Love the new map! (save issue below).
Meh:
Too white. I miss the left menu bar. Don't like the forums opening on the list of active threads.
Issues:
Didn't have time to read through all the posts, but here are a few things I noticed.
- Date ordering in the inbox isn't working quite right - shows 2005, then 2004, then 2010, then 2009, etc...
- Perhaps a symptom of having too many photos, but the map can't seem to map my photos. I click on MY PHOTOS, and it spends eternity "Searching for photos."
- When I uploaded a photo, it doesn't take me to edit automatically, but just saves it. Is this expected behaviour? If so, is there a way to mark that you'd like to edit the photos you just uploaded during the upload process?
- Went in to edit the location of the photo. Found it on the map using text search, but when I clicked update it hadn't actually updated the text search box yet, and so I got an error. Tried it again, and made sure I waited for the text box to update to the specific location before clicking update, and it worked fine. Just seems to be a lag between the map updating and the text box reflecting the new location.

Regarding the editing completely instead of template sections: all the featured articles have this problem.
Ok, found the problem here. It's to do with caching. It cached the page when a user who didn't have admin rights loaded the page. Then you came along and saw their cached version. Heh. So, this kind of brought me to make a change which I'd meant to do anyway and that is to enable editing of featured articles for anyone. Considering we'll need to feature articles a lot more to work together with the events, I think this is not a problem. You can always still lock the article if it's an issue. And the feature description is still only editable by guide editors with moderator status.
Also, I'll let the existing cache wear itself out, so the problem won't quite disappear immediately. It will happen within a day or alternatively as soon as a featured article has been edited (through the main edit link), those links should show again.
