Well, this may be a bit harsh since both my parents are from there--and I have more relatives living there than anyplace else--but I have no interest in ever returning to Nebraska.

Last time I was there (for a 50th anniversary celebration for relatives), the people were nice enough--but I was bored out of my mind after the first of my three days spent there. There is simply nothing to do. If you ever decide that you want to make your remaining years seem like they are lasting forever, go to one of the smaller towns.

Might be fun if you like living on a farm as a kid, but not for anyone over 12 years of age.

Gary, I almost agree with you. I have a friend in Broken Bow Nebraska that I have visited several times over the years. Boring is correct when you are talking about small farm towns. But I am going to vote for Kansas as even more boring. At least Nebraska has the Platte River carving through the state. The westward wagon trains, the Pony Express, the Overland Stage Coach and Mormon Trail followed the Platte River on their way to California, Oregon and Utah. You can still see the wagon wheel ruts in many places in Nebraska. Add in the Sand Hills, Scotts Bluff, Chimney, Courthouse and Jail Rock and there is plenty for a history buff to explore while in Nebraska. All Husker fans will chime in with game day in Lincoln NE. Let's see Kansas top that for excitement!

Quoting Sander

There are many places I have no interest in visiting which I know nothing about, but of the places which I have visited, the number one place I never hope to return to would have to be Los Angeles.

I wouldn't return to LA for reasons of a romantic nature , but Sander, what's your reason for your passionately negative feelings towards this city?

Vang Vieng in Laos... terrible place. The town only exists due to drinking youngsters who "dare" to tube.
Rediculous place!

I agree the main street in Vang Vieng is awful, but much of the scenery along the river is stunning.

What an interesting question. I can't think of a single place I have visited that I wouldn't want to visit again. In fact, there's no place on earth I wouldn't go if given the opportunity! Er.... maybe Afghanistan at this time. However, with the right guide, I just might brave that!

There are some places I'd love to return to, and some places where 'once was enough'. Stonehenge was one of the 'once only' places. Frankly, I was disappointed. I wanted to walk between the stones and touch them- couldn't do that. So all you can do is look at them, from a distance: "Yep. They're big. They're very... big. And... old-looking. Hmm... Well, let's go back to Salisbury."
