Travel Forums System Talk Questions about blog maps

Is there a way to have the default map display be terrain rather than the standard Map?
Also in my posts I have a link at the top of my pages “View Map on my travel map.” Can this be removed? As I include my page at the bottom of each page.

Hmm, the terrain view as a default can't be done. It could certainly be considered for the future, if technically feasible...

There isn't a pretty way to hide the map text (other than not filling in the dates the entry is for at the bottom when typing the entry), but if you add this into your template, it should work...

.preentrydetails {height:34px !important;overflow:hidden;margin-bottom:15px;}

Alternatively, you could hide this entire bit (including temperature/date) using the following;

.preentrydetails {display:none;}

Let me know how you go!?

By the way, given all the changes we're making, I thought I'd mention that it probably is also possible to replace the header image you have in your blog with a map of your whole trip... just an idea, but I am pretty sure we could get that to work :)

thanks. The terain thing isn't a big deal.
I will try the first line of code you suggest and let you know how I get on.

I'm not to sure what you mean by replacing the header image with the map. Do you mean the banner at the top of my page with my blog name and have our route/map displayed there instead?
Sounds cool, but think I will stick with my banner. I change it every few months. But that's a nice idea though.

Yep, that's what I meant. Totally fine of course to stay with your own header, but as this is a new option thought I'd mention it :) We should really make a template that includes a map by default.

Thanks. the code

.preentrydetails {height:34px !important;overflow:hidden;margin-bottom:15px;}
works a charm on my blog.
I like having the dates and weather, and they remain.
Thanks
