I need help with information on the best wedding destinations in the carribean including Central and South America.
Any tips, photo's, value, web site info, recommendations would be very appreciated. Date has not been set, so time of year recommendations would be helpful (We like the hot sunny weather, but dislike the high humidity). Also, any reviews on Arruba and the Mayan Riviera would be great.
Check out this link: Carribean Wedding Requirements. It has a document that lists all the requirements needed for the marriage to be legal.
I went to a wedding in the Mayan Riveria at the Barcelo Maya in May. They handled everything - wedding on the beach, music at the wedding, DJ, dinner, dancing. It was very nice. There were about 70 people there (quite large for a destination wedding, as I understand it). I have no idea on costs, sorry.
One thing to be aware of, if you are getting married on the beach, be aware that you will have a few gawkers watching the whole thing. You will find that you get a few wedding shots with hairy Europeans in speedos in the background.
I am actually considering the Mayan Riviera, and coincidentally I was also at the Barcelo Maya the week of May 8 (small world), and saw a wedding taking place.
Thanks for the website link.
You may wish to consider St Kitts and Nevis. You will find information about St Kitts and Nevis at this web site http://www.discover-stkitts-nevis-beaches.com These are two beautiful islands in the North Eastern Caribbean that together are a Federation. The islands are naturally beautiful and have some very friendly and hospitable people. There are many options for weddings including beach weddings, tropical garden weddings at old sugar plantations and weddings at a historical fortress about 700 ft above sea level with a compelling view of neighbouring islands and the surrounding hillsides.

The Mayan Riviera is a great place to get married. Paradise Weddings is run by a really competent young woman named Manuela. www.mayarivieraweddings.com is the site. We've seen a wedding there and it's really beautiful.
Antigua, Guatemala: E mail the owner of site, she has been handling weddings in the Colonial City for many years.

Hi.. I went to a wedding in February (14th) in Jamaica. Family members stayed at the Hibiscus Lodge in Ocho Rios (typical nice resort) and Seville Manor, across the street. The latter was relatively inexpensive, rather home-like; they handled food and lodging for the whole wedding party (their daughter's) and the wedding was held nearby in (I think) Negril. Very beautiful and that resort did a fantastic job of adjusting a beach wedding to inside due to a downpour. And of course the beach is beautiful, night life amazing. To enjoy Jamaica (unless you just want to remain in the resorts) you have to have a certain tolerance for being hustled a little to buy things on the streets. But it's a poor country, so what do you expect? I thought it was WONDERFUL. And the food fantastic.
When I was in St. Johns (US Virgin Islands) I saw a wedding and it looked amazing.
If you are looking for litterly an 'island to yourself' then that is it. Not to mention it is a great place for anyone you invite considering you can grab a plane ticket for $350-$400.
I lived in the Caribbean for a few years and we were always looking for good wedding spots for us!
Anguilla is my number one choice. It is quite, peaceful and the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen.
Here is one of the most amazing resorts
This is another resort in Anguilla
Both do weddings. It is a short boat or ferry ride from St Maarten.
The best time if you dont want it to hot

When it is unbearable
