Hi all, I am now staying at wake up sydney 22nd-29th December, then moving to Surfside Coogee 29th Dec-2nd Jan. I've been told that Wake Up is the best hostel to stay in and it's got great reviews, so although I'll be in two different hostels whilst I'm in Sydney, I think I've made the right choice, and at least then I can experience the city and the beach life! Anyone staying at either of these?

Hiya,
Wake up looked like the best hostel and wanted to go there, but leaving it to the last thing to book I couldn't get in. I've book surfside bondi beach from 29 Dec to 2 Jan. Bit worried now though cause the reviews I saw were good but now I've heard mixed things. Is anyone else staying there? Did look at the Coogee one too and wasn't sure which to pick. Has anyone sorted any further for NYE? xx

heya emma, thats actually a pretty good idea what youve done, i was torn between chosing a place in the city and on the beach but i ended up booking one in the city, i think im gonna go and stay at one of the beach hostels after new years. how is your planning going, are you all booked up and ready to go now?

I actually tought about doing the same thing, doing 2 hostels, because I really wanted to stay at the wake up, but I'm on a bit if a budget and the other hostels were more expensive and jolly swagman was cheaper. But sounds great what you're going to do.
A good mixture of city & beach :D

You can get the tickets online for the bondi NYE party but its $135+bf. I would love to see david guetta but its very expensive and i dont want to miss out on the habour fireworks.

yeah i dont think any of us traveling down want to miss the fireworks, its gonna be amazing to be actually there watching the fireworks in person, instead of just seeig pictures or watching it on tv.

are you guys planning on staying in sydney for long after new years, or heading straight off to travel?
