Monalisa2, thanks so much for your reply. I will look into these recommendations. Do you have a favorite arrondissement to stay in when in Paris? It sounds like the 5th has what we're looking for, close to sights and lots of cafes and restaurants. Our budget is approximately $99 - $130 per night. We're thinking about getting budget accomodations for a few nights and then splurging one night in something a little fancier.

So many choices! So much pressure to make a decision!

Thanks for your help!

Monalisa2, thanks so much for your reply.

Please forget about that reply again. "monalisa2" is a rather persistent astroturfer of independent hotels; "she" is not a real user at all, but (working for?) the guy who runs the websites of each of those three hotels.

Yes, it was brought to my attention by the moderator. I'm new to the forum and don't know who the spammers are. Unfortunately, the majority of my posts have been responded to by spammers for the most part. So I'm still lost in planning my trip!!

Thanks for the insight. ;)

Yeah, I've noticed. :( It's really unique to Paris that we have this one very persistent spammer (we know who he is, what his company is called, etc, and one of our admins has been trying to get in touch with him), but when you're trying to plan a trip to Paris, then yeah, you'll constantly run into him. :(

I wish I knew anything about Paris, for I'd dearly love to give you some useful advice. At least the other replies on this thread are genuine and look useful. Good luck with your trip!

Thanks again Sander!

I think I'm going to just post questions about the Italy leg of the trip, and I'll figure out the Paris portion on my own.
