Would you want a despedida party or a farewell dinner before you leave a town or city that you have lived for more than a year?

I've been to some of these goobye dinner or night out in the bar with friends and aquaintances. And I've learned not feel bad, saying goobye, especially if the person is not as beautiful as my best friends, that left ages ago.

I plan to have my own goodbye dinner... trouble is, I dont belong to a clique or some sort. I just plan to invite people that "I like" and they may not even know each other. Its in a restaurant, so that would casual and drama free. I have had my "low profile" exits and I do not want an entourage, whenever I hit the bus stations. But that is probably why I keep coming back...

I need to hate my base, and find someplace new... I want a party. But I'm a bit worried that this would only give me the illussion that I belong here or that I will MISS some people, so badly, I will subconsciously ruin my chances of finding a new city, just so I can make my return to paradise Vol. 1-10.

I am travelling next week, but I haven't decided which city. For now, its an island called Hainan vs. Vietnam.

If you feel like saying goodbye to these people then do it, treat it like closing a chapter of a story of your life. Maybe you'll meet them sometime in some other's better to begin a journey after a proper farewell then just pack your things and leave as if meeting these people meant nothing to you.

Thats a very good advice... I had my sort of goodbye dinner, but I am extending 5 more days... It just felt strange, not staying in my own room and having to sleep in a couch in my own town.

About the chapter thingy... I am trying to tell myself that, well its good to hear it from another person.

The best part, is that I got my dinner, coz someone I wanted to say goodbye to, made the initative to ask me to hang out. I can easily have goodbye dinners... hosted by other friends. But I am a bit lonely, I cant fake it. I dont want to play cheerful, when I am missing some people. I just want to say goodbye to a few people, so I guess, I'll just have to go out with individuals.
