Hey! Really? It worked out to be $760 for 7 nights which is pretty stock standard but the surrounding nights outside of 3-10march were only $30 a night.

I have just paid the full balance they emailed me a confirmation and I just have paid for the total amount so don't have to worry about it when I get there :)

Hi Kiah,

Think I must have missed out on the rooms at that price:(
The only ones they have left were about R$1200.

I've managed to find some ridiculous cheap hostels during carnival, just wondering if anyone else is staying in them or if they're absolutely horrific and that's why they're so cheap! For a package of 5 nights Happy Rio Hostel is R$800 and sareufa is $640. Obviously I want to save as much money as possible but not if I'm going to have a miserable time on my own or in a really dirty hostel!

Claire the happy Rio is clean, dont worry, its a small hostel, and they have a lot of rules, but since you want to save money, its the best option,is near everything, and you are not going to have a miserable time here, quite the contrary, you can enjoy the beaches, party on the street bands, make friends, drink caipirinhas....

Hi Karioca or anyone else,

Here's a question - we're all heading to Rio for carnival, but what are the best things to do and places to be and when? It's probably best to get a ticket for the samba parade, but what day and sector is likely to be best?

Has anyone already got tickets for this?
