Yeah you should buy the tickets for the samba parade as soon as possible, the best days are sunday and monday, the major schools of samba parade on those days, sector 7 bleachers, but they are more expansive.
The best things to do?how many days are you going to stay in Rio?you can go to the beaches, during the day,and party on the streets band in the evening, there are many, and they are free to join at any time, also there are the classical touristic attrations,The Crist redemeer, the sugar loaf, and here is a good tip, the site ''copacabana.info'' offers a free audio guide with detailed data about the places to stay and things to do in Rio.

Hey all,

I'm not travelling solo, I'm going to be with my friend but are more than happy to meet up with other people. We're 2 females from the UK, I'm 29 and my friend's 27.

We're starting our travels in Brazil on 5th March and will be going to the Rio Carnival. We have booked an organised tour for 8 days before spending the next 6 months in South America.

Looking forward to chatting to everyone about their plans.

Hi Hench, thanks for your message.

What date do you fly out? Where else are you visiting? We have booked on a tour from Unravel Travel (I won't post the link as I am unsure of what's allowed) which has sorted our accommodation for 8 days, entrance to the carnival on the Sunday, visit to The Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf, a visit to Ilhe Grande and Paraty and plenty of free time to do what we want.

After that we plan to spend time (hopefully in this order) in Argentina (we have a Spanish on the move course booked), Peru (we have the Inca Trail booked), Bolivia, Colombia and Chile (we are flying out to New Zealand from here).

Hi everyone,
If any of you guys are interested in parading at the carnival, join me and some friends Saturday the 5th with the "Alegria da Zona Sul"-group. Its the 2nd league. No samba skills required. We will be a few thousand
It will be a lot of fun, I have paraded several times before, both in Rio and Salvador.
I am also up for some pre-party, such as dining or beer drinking
Feel free to PM me...

If anyone was interested in Rio carnival tickets and hasn't got any yet, let me know via pm. I've found a good site and just bought tickets for the Monday.

Will anyone be in Salvador, Bahia for Carnival by any chance? I will be there from 3/4-3/9, then heading to Rio after. It's my first time to Brazil, nonetheless Carnival, so I would love any advice!
