I'll go with the beer option too. I always prefer to come home saying i've drunk the local beers than drunk the local bottled waters.

Mr. Isa here...

When you drink the local beer, you're also drinking the local water. Sorry, it's my business.

Coconut water, spiked with the local rum. OK, anything spiked with the local rum.......

Papaya juice, rum, seawater (hey, when swimming, it's kind of unavoidable).

Hey Mr Isa, what's your favourite rum. I'm not a rum man myself, but the rums (and punches) i tried in the caribbean were fantastic. Appletons was my favourite. Not sure what island it originates from though.

I hear white beer is big in Europe. It's starting to make a big statement here in the UK. Think normal beer but white with a slightly lemon taste. It's very expensive over here though, not sure of the prices in Europe.

Also, if you go to Slovakia, try Becherovka. It's very strong, like Whiskey, but a more herbal taste (made from herbs I think). Warms you up nicely on its way down .

Mr Isa here...

Hey Dave! First - Appleton is a product of Jamaica.
My favorite, hmmm, tough call... the last one I had was excellent and made in Panama. Didn't have the "funny" rum bite that most Caribbean rums have. My most common after work drink is Bacardi Spiced Rum - easy to drink straight up. I prefer them straight up... Once my mouth goes numb, they go down soooo smoothly. Appleton Reserve is good too - though a bit pricy.

Mrs. Isa here - On one of my trips in Jamaica, we took the train from Montego Bay to the Appleton Distillery (making rum and Tia Maria from the sugar cane). We were given a tour of the distillery and warehouse, though Appleton hadn't been notified that we were coming up there. Made for an interesting tour just the same. The train trip is now a tourist "attraction" and listed as the Appleton Express and runs about $55-75 US for the trip and tour. You also make a stop at the caves that used to be used by the pirates and rum-runners. Pretty cool caves. (I have pics somewhere so will find, scan and post in photo album.)

Hey Jon!

White beer is growing in popularity here in the US as a craft beer. I make a Belgian Wit (White) beer with hints of coriander and orange curacao. YUMMY!
