Chinese N.Y. in Manchester is far superior than the celebrations in London.. Cheaper too.
Glastonbury is sold out.
Notting Hill Carnival isn't all it's cracked up to be. Always lots of arrests and the food on sale is generally vile.
Edinburgh Fringe, one of the world's finest.
Antwerpen Beer Festival - makes the Oktoberfest seem rather bland.
St. Patrick's Day in London???? What are you thinking?
Littlehampton or Lewes bonfire processions. None finer anywhere.
Kavarna Rock Fest (Bulgaria).
The Sziget Festival (Budapest, August) is great! it's one of the biggest in Europe.
I made many European festivals and a road trip through Europe in 2009 took me in Hungary and to Sziget festival.
It was crazy! The festival is in the heart of Budapest on an island on the middle of river Danube, creating a special atmosphere with the unique mixture of party, city and nature.
It is the longest festival, 7 days of music, cultural programs and exhibitions. But it is also the largest with 400,000 persons from everywhere in the world and the most diverse line up, you will find what you like in every hour of the day on one of the 30 stages of the Island.
You add a huge Party Arena and some parties places with several DJs 24h/7, cheap drinks and food.
I finished this experience in one of the baths of the city on Monday afternoon.
A week of madness, i didn’t believe what I was living!
Live it, you will enjoy it!

France have lots of festivals in June. Actually, you didn't specify when you would go there. It is important to tell use when since some countries have a peak season for festivals. But if you're going to ask about June, France got lots of them.
Im a traveller and am currently staying / helping at Paradise Surf Hostel in Baleal - which is fantastic!
There is the ripcurl surf competition that happens here 15th -22nd October
and also a donkey festival race in Ferral which happens in August! Im planning on hiring a donkey
We also passed through the cocorne campsite in France and near to there there are some amazing caves where they put on small concerts - was trippy
