The song I'm listening to right now goes " Hey ! Hey! I'll love you 'til the morning comes ..."

Quoting travelover

How about "Leaving on a Jet Plane"?

That's my husband's favorite - as long as it's the version sung by Delores (Brenda Vaccaro) in the movie "Water". (Delores was from Guatemala, you know...)

Right now...
"Steve McQueen" - Sheryl Crow
"Fruitcakes" - Jimmy Buffett
The whole "Desperado" (w/Antonio Banderas) soundtrack

All that could change tomorrow though...

Sitting in an internet cafe in Manila, with the coolest music playing in the background:

"I'll see you when you get there. When you gonna get there?"

Quoting remarcable

Didn't have one until I heard Craig David's "I'm walking away". That song captured the reason why I travel. I have it on repeat!

M.

Now that is a kool song- and a great album as well, nice choice!! i play songs like that and well many others when i'm in the car driving to work and thinking that very soon i will no longer be driving this same route and i will be in Oz and eventually i will travel Oz for a good few months-year even!

I could not live without music it really keps me going-through thick and thin!

hmmm well mine is just a song that I don't think I had ever heard it before this experience but now has so much meaning to me....I was in Italy on a school trip just last year and our little aussie group did our own thing for a few weeks but for the last 2 weeks of our trip we had the opportunity of living with a host italian family and experiencing their culture and way of life. This was the most amazing experience yet and on our first and last days in our new italian schools with our new brothers and sisters, they had a welcome and farewell assembly for us. We shared stories, gave gifts and they even organised to play and sing songs for us and as you have probably already guessed, one of them was 'my own special travel song' - Leaving on a Jetplane. This song didn't have much meaning to us on the first day but after we got to know everyone and we formed such a close bond, when it came to hearing that song on our last day...well im sure everyone has seen enough in the movies to have some idea of the whole 'saying goodbye/happy ending' and some idea of how many tissue boxes there were in that hall ;)
Anyhoo, I just thought I'd add my song to the list.
Catch ya's later,
Kelly

In my case, each trip has a different music, for example last June in Galapagos, its music was "Somewhere over the rainbow" (Israel Kamakawiwo) and during my last trip in Bolivia, Argentine and Brazil (Dec-Jan) was "Stay on these roads" (A-ah) and as a coincidence I met to my frind who I haven't seen for three-year ohhhh!

I don't really have a travel song, but music that reminds me of where I've been:

  • Postal Service = N. Ireland
  • Sigur Ros = Quebec City
  • Robbie Willams (not that I like it) = NZ

Just stuff I heard whan I was there that's burned the two together in my mind.
