Hey! I might be going to Turkey for 2 weeks in May 2011, and I've never been before, so I was just wondering how much spending money you think I would need? I'm not sure how expensive things are out there? My sister wants us to go all inclusive, but I went all inclusive in Spain and I still spent £300 in a week. Any advice? Thanks.
go to a decent All Inc in Turkey and you will spend next to nothing. Some of my best holidays have been there. First one Sept 2002 I went to Fethiye and stayed at Letoonia which was a 4* resort. A few restaurants, plenty bars, disco, 24 hr all inc. Fabulous. Only money I spent was on 2 day trips and a visit to the bi-weekly market.
Latest one in Aug 2009 we went to Antalya and stayed at the 5* Renaissance owned by Mariott. 7 restaurants all fabulous, lost count of bars and facilities. Spent nothing except a little at a shop to buy a tee shirt and a pair of leather shoes. Can not recommend this place enough. Check it out.
For facilities it can not be beaten. For beauty head to Fethiye. Prob more to do outside the resort around there so maybe you would spend more. Really depends what sort of thing you like to do on your hols.
oh, guy I work with went self catering htis year and said he spent over £120 a day for him and his wife. Couldn't afford to drink decent spirits either as too expensive.
as a Turk I agree with Tricky, go to a decent 5 star all inclusive resort you will pay next to nothing . BTW. there are 2 types of all inclusives , only ==ultra all inclusive ==covers import drinks you mentioned ( jack daniels, absolut, bacardi etc. ) if you gonna buy souveniers and take some boat tours and similar things you will spend araound 500 $ for 2 weeks tops.
enjoy your trip to turkey
It is true I was in Turky three times I found good hotels and had great food and I didn't spend even 500$!
