Don't know about you but i have just had a really surreal feeling... You spend months and months planning, and saving money and dreaming about the day you land in Oz, what its going to be like.. and then it hits you, your going to Australia in three weeks! didnt think it would ever happen. Im a 19 yr old girl going on my own, and pooping my pants is an understatement, but from the sounds of it, there are a lot of girls (and guys) traveling alone, pretty much at the same time. Anybody going to be in Melbourne beginning of Feb?
Its going to be an experience of a lifetime, especilialy for me, as I can't even get a bus to town on my own.. lol- I need to learn to be independant so this is the perfect opportunity.
I can't wait for the day when my grandkids will say "tell us the story of when you went to australia Granny.." (but obviously that will be in about 60 years!)
Safe travelling everybody
I travel to Sydney 3 weeks today. I've been getting a touch of the butterflies myself although I think its more apprehension.
Once you arrive its really easy to meet people. The majority of people on this forum seem to be travelling alone which sort of puts us all in the same boat. I'm sure after a couple of weeks you'll be wondering why you were so nervous.
I know what you guys are going through. I am leaving for Sydney on the 25th of Jan. It will be my first time in Oz. Can't wait!!! I will be staying at Footprints Westend once I get there. Now I just have to deal with the 29 hour Flight
See ya down under,
My friend and I go on the 19th - a week on Wednesday!! Just two days left at work and then nothing but worrying about packing, attempting to pack, realising wanting to take too much, trying to pack again etc etc!!
I have been wanting to go to Oz for about 10 years now so I don't think it is gonna hit me that I am doing this until I land. I have never been so nervous and excited all at the same time! We're starting in Sydney but the person I am going with has a friend in Newcastle so we are staying with him for a bit to get over the jet lag and sort ourselves out. And then.......who knows!!!
