Hi i am on a 2 year visa in Australia. I have a 4wd and loving it.

My original plan when coming here was to come overland but ran out of time and money. Now i have a bit of both and want to send my car to malaysia and drive it!

One problem, Bureaucracy. Can i jus turn up at the country and they will let me through? do i have to keep my rego running in south australia? which country to import the car too?

any help from people who have done it or intrested in doing it would be great. Im based at the momment in Perth if anyone would like to meet for a coffee.

Happy travels to all of you reading

hey, i was looking into doing this except the other direction dublin to australia, there is sooo much involved, i ended up changing my mind and will now fly and use public transport overland, the main thing you will need is a CARNET DE PASSAGES, typlically a passport for your car. it works out costing a bomb as you need to leave a deposit insuring you wont just abandon your car in one of the countries.
its a fun thing to plan and if you have the cash id say an amazing experience!
happy travels.
