Im arriving, for the first time ever, in Dublin Friday, Feb 11th 7am and am going to stay until Monday before going to Galway. I was wondering if anyone wanted to offer up their couch? I know this is a weird request, but I figured I would ask.
message me if you want any more details.
If no offers, Ill just stay at a hostel, but figured Ill be doing that for a while in Galway, so it might be nice to not be in one when I arrive:)

If you don't want to offer up a couch, want to meet up and grab a beer or lunch?

hiya, unfortunately i have people staying that week so I have no couches / chairs left but could meet up for a pint or two or three !?!? I would be working that day till 6 or so, takes about an hour for me to get into the city so it would be evening / night before I could meet up on the Friday.......

that would be cool!
Maybe we can get a few people to go:) We would have to decide on a bar and time before I leave since I don't know if I will have internet access right away when I get there:) Plenty of time to figure things out though!
Anyway, just found out Im staying until at least Monday in Dublin, so Ill definitely just check into a hostel! :)

should be no problem to organise a group..... what type of music / pubs do you prefer ?

I would be up for anything. I didn't know there were different types of pubs. Ill leave all that deciding up to you.
I have never been to dublin before or anywhere in Europe.

Ill make a new thread about this when I get back from work to see if other people are interested:)

there are various types of pubs to suit all moods, we have ones for pop / chart music, r n b / hip hop clubs, rock, indie, grunge, goths, live music, dj's , no music, latest game (sports etc) .......... there are quiet pubs where you go for a chat, loud ones where you dance all the time and scream across the table, places where you can relax and wear whatever you want, places where you get dressed up to the nines, places to meet different types of people, etc....

I see
Alright. . how about one with music but not so loud that you can't talk. . and one where you don't really have to dress up. Know of anything like that??
Let me know:)

Im jealous that i wont be there. Theres a pub called The Celt on Talbot St that has a hostel joined onto it (maybe the hostels called The Celtic Lodge, not 100% sure), not the prettiest area but a brilliant pub, one of my all time favourites...they have live traditional music every night at 9pm. There are normally a few backpackers in there and a few brilliant locals, really good atmosphere of cameraderie in the place, ive even spotted what passes for celebrities in Ireland in there, i.e. Adrian Logan and Pat Finucane's son!
