Open return flights to Bangkok

Travel Forums Round the World Travel Open return flights to Bangkok

Is it possible to buy open-ended return flights from the UK to Bangkok and if so is it worth it?
I have checked the major airlines (BA, KLM etc) and the option does'nt seem to exist. Also, buying one way tickets in either direction is obviously a lot more costly than return with fixed dates.
I plan to go travelling around Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos early next year but was just planning on basically carrying on until my money runs out. This could be anywhere between 3-6 months.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I also plan a similar trip how much money are you taking with you for travel? i heard about £500 a month is alright for them countries?

Not exactly sure about money. I was actually thinking the same thing myself. £500 a month works out at less than £20 a day, never mind transport between different towns, tours etc.
You could probably survive but I intend to stay in half decent hotels (clean rooms, hot water, air con) and avoid travelling by the cheapest and most painful method.
This will be my first time travelling other than two week holidays in the region so maybe some seasoned travellers could help us out?

Try www.airasia.com. It is the low cost airline in Malaysia, thus, you could use Kuala Lumpur as a transit hub. It flies KL - London, and allow you to buy a 1 way ticket everywhere it flies as a 1 way ticket cost. The connection is pretty good to all Asean (BKK, Ventiane, Hanoi, Jakarta, etc) or Asia destinations.

500 pounds a month should be quite sufficient, excluding major activities cost, ie. Gibbon in Thailand already cost 40-50pounds.

hi guys, i plan to do a similar thing in Feb. I'm not sure what to do about flights either!? ive found cheap return flights with fixed dates but i just worry that if im travelling around im not gonna get back to Bangkok in time for the flight!? or ill mis-judge the time it takes to get back to Bangkok etc. Again i would like to return home when the funds are gone (knowing the sort of person i am, it could be before my return flight! that would be a bummer!)

To Scottboy - did you find any flights? I also want to go on a similar trip and don't want to be fixed to a schedule !
That's the whole point isn't it ?
