I would suggest that you reconsider traveling alone, especially as a single female. I think that only opens up more of an opportunity for those thieves who target single traveler to get you. I have travel to other country by myself only to regret that I didn't bring someone with me. Nothing bad happened at the time but I think traveling alone can really take away from the enjoyment of the trip if your constantly on edge and in a state of anxiety looking out over your shoulder for thieves or people who might be out to get you the whole time your there. I guess it depends on the type of person you are. For me it really takes away from the experience of traveling abroad when you do it alone in my opinion.

just my thought, don't do that.

hello viptravel,
I think you are a bit anxious about dangers when travelling....

Everywhere you go in the world need a bit of attention, and Thailand is like any other country.
There are thousands of solo travellers in Thailand and it`s very easy to make friends with other travellers, specially in Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phi Phi, Koh Lipe, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.
Take many join in tours, it`s the easiest way to meet new people.
Enjoy Thailand, lovely country.

Hi Everyone!!! I'm a female traveller also planning a super quick backpacking trip to SouthEast Asia in either late Feb 2011 or early March 2011 :) I wanna hit up Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam in 10 days!! (I know 10 days is super short--but I plan on returning) I was thinking 2 days in Bangkok, 1 day in Chiang Mai, and the remaining 3 days on the Phi Phi Islands,Maya Bay, and monkey beach. The main activities Im interested in Thailaind include taking a Thai cooking class, elephant riding, and beaching it. Would spend 2 days each in Cambodia and Vietnam--just wanna see the major attraction in each country----any suggestions??? Anyone interested in joining me? :)

Greetings from NYC!!!

I will be in bangkok for 20-24th feb. If you want I can join you. Have a nice holiday!

I am thinking about traveling to Thailand in February 2011 and am considering going alone. Is it safe to travel there as a female? Does anyone know where I could possibly find other people to travel with? Any places I must see in Thailand? Any and all ideas are welcome!

Thailand Tourism really is a very good choice. It's heaven on Earth.I travelled there last year.BTW i'm female.I went to Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya, and other beach islands. It was so charming and beautiful.

As you mentioned that you would like to meet other people, then you can go to the local international youth hostel. It's very cheap and safe. You may run into other backpacker as you from around the world.

oh BTW Remember to take toilet things, Thailand hotels do not provide it.

hope it helps :) have a nice trip~
