Hi

I am hoping to do some volunteering with 'Madiba's Volunteers' in early February next year. I am spending two weeks on the 'Lion, tiger and jaguar breeding programme'. Has anyone ever done this or worked with Madiba's volunteers on a different scheme? I would really appreciate any information or reviews!

Thanks.

I have never been on this programme but have looked into some infor for you. THe lodge is situated in the Waterberg biosphere. However, it is a Golf Estate rather than a natural conservation area. By the sounds of it is it more zoo like than a natural wildlife environment. I would think that you are having to pay them to work there which is a good deal for them. Having said that, it is probably the only way you will get up close and personal with these cats. I would be interested to know of there is anyone else who has done anything with these folk.
Good luck

Hi Nanna1

Thanks for your reply. How did you learn that our particular project is situated in the Waterberg Biosphere? I have been searching websites about this area but none of them mention anything about Madibas Volunteers and the Madibas Volunteers website doesn't specifically mention where our particular scheme is run...

Thanks
