Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean Budget accomodation in Salvador for Carnaval

laksmann has indicated that this thread is about Brazil

I will be flying into Rio on the 29 Jan 2005 and plan to travel around Brazil for 2 months. I would like to see Carnaval in Salvador but did not book any advance accomodation as I only found out this week that I will be able to get my connecting flight from Peru.

Anyways, now I can't find any budget accomodation available on the internet.

Can anyone help please - hostels, hospedajes, names, websites etc... ???

just an idea - but have you tried to contact any schools or colleges in Salvador, they may be able to put you in contact with student accomodation.... or know who to contact.... good luck !

Another idea, if you're rreally stuck is try to stay in someone's house? You can pay for board etc....
There are a plenty of sites that offer help with this kind of thing do a google search.
Hope you sort something out

You can try:

Hotel Pousada Meson
Pelourinho - Salvador - Bahia

R. Alfredo Brito, 11 - Pelourinho - Salvador - Bahia - Brasil

Costing about a R$ 40 for a single

[ Edit: Sorry, no personal details please. ]

we are flying to rio tomorrow and should get to salvador for the carnival too... so any help on accomodation would be great!
we had planned to book when we got there as we're not sure about dates yet... hopefully this shouldn't be too much of a problem?

These were also recommended to me:

I think the hostel recommended above and the hostels/hotel below may have availability.

I still make mine a confirmed booking.

Good luck.

Albergue do Passo

Hotel Solar dos Romanos

Albergue do Pelo
