Hi Marta, the UK and Portugal are both in the EU so you can work here without a visa. Wages here in the UK are quite good, but the cost of living is relatively high. There's not much point coming here to work and then shelling out lots of what you earn on rent, food, and transport costs-all of which are high here. I'd suggest you work in Portugal, maybe work two jobs and stick to s.e. Asia!
Hi! thanks for the advices. I also think there's not really much point going to work in the UK if I have to earn enough money to pay all of those expenses. I guess I'll have to start thinking about possible jobs I can get here in Lisbon. Wish me luck finding some good ones! lol
It depends on what you want really. If you would like to work for the coming 6 months of travel with comfort, then I suggest you look for a job near home. However, if you would like to mix it up a bit, work and have a little fun out of it, and explore all the while then it might be a good idea for you to work in the UK. If it helps, you might want to consider ideas which will help your profession grow in the near future.
I have to admit, you really have a nice idea going there - of travelling for 6months and simply having the time of your life. Travel safe, and simply enjoy the time of your life. Happy trails.

At the begining my plan was exactly to try to mix up work and travelling. Like, if I go to the UK I am already in a foreign country, learning new things and getting to know new people. If I stay home it will be 6 months just working and nothing else. But on the other hand I think I won't be able to find such a good job that will allow me to pay for my expenses and still gather enough money to travel for 6 months. It would be a great plan if I had more money than I do. lol. Anyway, I'll figure it out somehow... Thanks for the tips

Hi! Yes, it a very peaceful and beautiful place! I quite like it, specially Lisbon. Where in Portugal were you?
I have never been to Greece or Bulgaria, but I'd visit Greece first. It seems pretty amazing.
