Ok brilliant, thank you. I'm just sorting out all the last bits and pieces now :)

Do you think a 35 litre rucksack is sufficient?
What are the best brands for walking trainers and/or sandals?
And how should I take my money? Travellers cheques, cards or cash?

thank you :) xxx

Katie,
Smaller is better when you have to lug around a pack. You might take a look at pac-safe. It can make you bag very difficult to steal or grab things out of it. No advice on trainers. I would take a combo of money options. Some cash as the USD is used and accepted all over VN. I take travel checks because they are safer than cash and I don't pay a fee to get them. You do pay a fee when cashing then at banks, hotels, etc. but they are safer than carrying heaps of cash. ATM or credit cards are great to have with you as well. There are fees charged every time you use then however. Check with your card company for amounts charged when using them in VN. Then you will have a better idea what is the best option for you.

Good luck with your planning.
