The ?ref= in that link makes it spam (if you sign up after following that link, this one time poster gets money; not in itself bad, but he should've said so) - http://www.shutterstock.com/ just takes you to the general website.

Generally speaking $0.20 per photo is pathetic. 99% of pictures won't get more than a handful downloads (if you look at their forums, you see people "cheering" for earning as much as $1), and any which would get a thousand downloads would be good enough to be able to earn you way more than $200 with a single sale, let alone more than a handful.

If anyone does join this, I suggest not submitting any larger images than the absolute minimum needed to squeek by (2.5MP).

Oh, you also won't get paid anything until you earn at least $75 ($100 by default, but you can change that to $75). That's 375 downloads. Which means 375 professionals thinking the image is good and useful enough for them to use it on a website, in a presentation, in a brochure or for any similar purpose. (Since the subscriptions are bulk, that barrier is lower than it'd otherwise be, but still pretty darned high.)

It all sounded too good to be true

pbase.com, though user interface a little archaic

I like this one, even though the interface is available in Dutch only. It has 500MB space for free, which is quite a lot if you ask me.

Is that total, or monthly? It's bandwidth that costs money really, not the storage :) Plus, for you that's only 2.5 months worth of photo uploads here on TP .... so you basically get 2400 MB per year. Or if you look at it theoretically, we offer unlimited uploads simply because it goes on forever (yes, that is a messed up way to look at it though)

You got a point there; still I prefer the functionality of mijnalbum I'm afraid... can't win them all ;)

Will have to schedule in a few bits of functionality to be added to the TP one then, won't we?! ;)

Seriously though, there are quite a few different good ones out there and it all depends in a way what you are after. Sometimes more destination/country specific ones can be good, since tying in things like printing is nice and easy. I'd love to offer the option for users to upload pictures and then be able to print say 20 of them professionally and have them sent to their friends/family, but the reality is that it's just too hard to do (still) on a global level. Oh well, it'll come one day I'm sure ....
