Hi all,

This Wednesday we have a layover in Paris. We arrive to CDG at 8:20am and we leave from ORLY at 6:55pm. We've never been to Paris. How long does it take from the center of Paris to ORLY airport? Is metro the quickest option?

The quickest option is the shuttle bus from CDG to Orly, about a 40 minute trip on the ring road.
To see Paris, the metro from CDG goes to Orly, through Paris, and you can stop off anywhere using that ; depends on how much luggage you have to carry.

Arriving at that hour you'll probably still get rush hour to Paris.
With the transfer time, chech-in and security you'll have much less than 10h. Go to and carefully check your options and the required travel times.
Check if it's easier to get the Cars Air France line 3 (that provide a link between Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, store your luggage there and then return to Paris) or to get rail link (RER B) between Paris Gare du Nord and Charles de Gaulle Airport - T2, store your luggage there and you are in Paris.
Cars Air France line 1 provide a link between the centre of Paris (Gare Montparnasse, Invalides, Étoile) and Paris-Orly. The Orlybus shuttle provides a link between Paris (Denfert-Rochereau station) and Paris-Orly. By train you allways have to change somewhere.
For luggage storage you have:
Gare du Nord, Gare de l’Est, Gare de Lyon, Gare d’Austerlitz and Gare Montparnasse. Luggage can be left for a maximum of 72 hrs and the cost, the same in all stations, ranges from €3 to just over €7 per day, depending on the size of the locker. They are available from 6.30am to 10.45pm.
At Paris-Orly: South Terminal the company Bagages du Monde offers a luggage storage service (6 hours minimum).
