Not able to send message to limited members?

Hi there,

I was not about to send a message to that person, but checked his profile: it said that he/she was a limited member and you could not send a message to that person. I checked a few others: new today and with or without spam: and they were alright, you could send them a message.

What's that, something I missed? Or an error somehow?

Hmm, it's supposed to work the other way around I am pretty sure (ie. Limited Members shouldn't be able to *send* messages). Then again, maybe they can't receive messages either as they haven't officially become members of the site (usually this status is for 'members' that have booked accommodation and this gives them a secure way to login to check their bookings, without any of the other abilities afforded to members).

No, this is correct behaviour actually.

"Limited Members" are members who have been signed up automatically after making a booking. We don't want them to get private messages from anyone until they have confirmed the terms and conditions and decided to be a proper member.

The main reason for this was that some spammers had been sending these members messages. As bad as it is for any member to receive a spam private message, it really sucks big time if it was simply because you made a booking through the site. Hence, private messages are off entirely for these "limited" members.
