Hi Lauren

I must find out about that guide,i got the lonely planet guide, havent read it much yet though, although have the trip from ireland to oz to look through it.The main thing about booking a hostel for me is the security, especially been on my own, thats the next challenge for me. I siad id start in sydney cause its the most central and could move on after, I also know of a girl who lives there from home. Have you any tours or trips planned when you get there?

Good evening to all!

Hi my name is Scott. I am heading out to Sydney as well, I leave on the 10th of March and hopefully arriving on the 12th! I will be meeting a friend of mine at a later date, however it would be awesome to make some new friends along the way! I will be on my own for a while so it would be cool to meet up and explore a little with some people. It is a big thing when you go on your own and in all honestly I am a little scared! Ha ha. The first thing I shall be doing is having a couple of weeks to chill, then hopefully get some work. I have a working visa and am hoping to stay out there for a year!
Anyway if any of you guys would like to meet up when we are out there please let us know! Look forward to hearing from you guys, if not I hope you all have a wicked time nevertheless!!

Hi Scott,

I would definitely be up for meeting up, i have a few friends living in sydney but i doubt they will want to do the touristy type stuff with me. yeah heading out there alone is quite scary -i'm worried about sitting on the plane crying after saying gdbye to my mum (i'm such a softy), i think that will be fairly embarrassing!

Why don't you add me on facebook - my name is Lauren Kelly and my profile pic is the same as the one i have on here so shouldn't be too hard to find :) x

Hi Elley,

I've got a trip up to the gold coast with a friend booked for the 1st weekend i am there and i'm going to Cairns for 2 weeks in July but that's it at the minute. Definitely will book more tho once i find my feet. What about you?

Yeah i think i would be worried about safety as well but i've heard there are some really great hostels so i am sure you will be fine. I think most of them are based in Kings Cross as well aren't they? so the nightlife will be so much fun!

Hello Lauren

I know what you are saying it is going to be scary on that plane by yourself, i am not looking forward to it, but at the same time I am! My total journey is like 28 hours ( not good ) it is definitely going to take it out me. Yeah I am not looking forward to saying good bye and seeing the tears.

Okay yeah I will do that. My full names Scott Bloye, my profile pic will be the back of my head ( Sounds random I know! Ha ha! ). So how long did you say you are planning on going out there for, also are you just staying in Sydney or heading elsewhere?

I'm 19 and also heading out to Oz alone! I leave on the 7th and have no plans whatsoever planned. Think I'm just gonna go with the flow!

Would love to know other people who are going out too though!

Also, any suggestions for absolute must-dos whilst I'm out there?
