Hello all travellers, I am new to this and looking to find the most out of this website.
I am planning a trip around July 2011 to backpack my way from England to France and then through
Europe and on to Greece.
I haven't got a clue what route to take and also I am planning on doing this with the least amount of money
As possible. I am taking a tent and I plan to stay under the stars. Do you know how I should plan my route and
How to make my way through Europe? thankyou.

My suggested route would be....
France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria - and finally Greece.
Once you cross the A/H border, you will pleasantly surprised how quickly the prices start going down for everything. The same again as you head towards Bulgaria, which will have the cheapest of all the costs you've entailed. The prices start to go up again as you cross into Greece.
If you're on a tight budget, then forget an Interail/Eurail pass. Just buy your rail tickets en-route. Internal tickets are always cheaper than international ones. So for example, it's cheaper to buy a ticket from one side of Hungary to the other, rather than one from Budapest to a destination in Romania.
You would do well to get some info on European buses/coaches too. Eurolines are a cheap coach company and can get you across countries and into others, cheaper than trains - on many occasions. Plus buses can be a lot more economical than trains too, although they do take longer, obviously. Also, consider perhaps the occasional budget airline. You could do - for instance, one side of Germany to half way across Austria in less than two hours, for around €40. I know you want to see as much of Europe as possible, but if you're delayed for any reason - or want to see more of one country than another, it's another way of getting from A-B quickly and cheaply.
Good luck with the planning.

Thankyou very much, how much time should I make for the trip? And do you think its possible to sleep under the stars the whole journey?
