Hi everyone, just thought I'd pitch in with my plans as they sound similar to most on here. I'm 28 (just) also from Liverpool and plan on going to cairns the first week in October, I've looked at hostels to book in advance and by far the most popular seems to be gilligans and although it looks like a massive party scene it still looks like an ideal place to start, just not sure how long to book for initially as I have no idea about further travelling plans other than to end up in Sydney at Christmas. I too am a bit nervous about going solo but from this site it looks as though there are a lot of people doing the same.

Hello peoples,

I'm looking for someone who feels like going through Kakadu national park for a few days... I am going to be in Darwin from Sept 23rd in the afternoon until the morning of the 27th, and I'd much rather rent a car, drive around and camp out than sit on a tour jeep for several days, which seems to be the only other way to do it! If anyone is interested in camping, hiking, and doing a bit of the boat and nature walk thing for 3 nights (or 2), I'd really love to chat, so lemme know! Car rentals are way cheaper when you split them 2 ways.

And, I know, too short a time, but I've only got a month and I'm spending most of it with a friend in Perth!
