"... Im going alone and freaking out!..."

==================

No need to worry.

Unless you're making a concerted effort to get waaay off the beaten path then your biggest worry in Thailand will be how to get away from other backpackers.

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

elaineatoz,

Thailand is the easiest/simplest "opposite-of-western-culture" backpacker destination in the world.

Unless she goes waaay off the beaten path your daughter will be buried under an avalanche of other foreign backpackers.

Honestly, there's no need to troll for companionship on an anonymous Internet travel discussion forum - your daughter will meet TONS of other backpackers face-to-face.

No worries.

Cheers,
Terry

I'm landing in Malaysia 3rd of April and will be heading north to Thailand. If anyone wants to catch up on the route, let me know.
