As part of a large trip I'll be travelling to Australia and arrive may 13th. I will travel straight to Sydney and arrive on the 14th. I will leave from Sydney to Bali on the 24th of
For entering Indonesia and Bali I need a visa. I will leave my homecountry (The Netherlands) allready in three weeks. So the best moment to obtain a visa for Indonesia will be when I'm in Sydney.
Does anybody know anything about the procedure? How much does it cost? How long does it take before you can pick up the visa? What information do you need? Passport I assume, but traveldetails as well?
I would very much appreciate it if anyone could help me with this situation.
I know all about this procedure and problem I recently ended up being denied entry into Bali as I didn't have the visa (was told I didn't need it but as I am Dutch and not Norwegian, I actually did....) and was 'deported' to Darwin.
The visa officially takes 3 days or so to get although I managed to get it in 24 hours (but in Sydney I wouldn't expect that!). It's a matter of filling in some papers at the consulate, handing over 2 or 3 passport photos, leaving your passport behind and paying the fee (60 AUD). 2 or 3 days later, you head back in and the visa is in your passport.
Pretty easy and painless, just make sure you head into the consulate on time.
Thanks for your reply, things should be all cool than, I have a couple of days in Sydney, so that should be fine.
Redirected to Darwin, hmmm, interesting. Hope I can get things propperly done before I end up in such a situation
Cheers again on the advice
