misslysh has indicated that this thread is about Italy

Hi everyone, I've just joined this forum as I'm a first time traveller.

I'm finished college in August and I'm moving to Italy in September. It's something I always wanted to do, so in the meantime I'm hoping to learn Italin and maybe take a TEFL course!

I'm a bit nervous about going on my own, but I'm super excited! Has anyone moved to Italy by themselves?

Hi Miss

Well I think you are very brave because I would have liked to do the same after reading Annie Hawes's books and watching the reality TV show about moving to Italy. I think it's a harder move because of the language barrier but it will be exciting to learn the different culture and immerse yourself in the day to day living.

I'm very excited for you and I wish I was doing the same!

One big question misslysh: What citizenship do you hold? Unless it is EU-citizenship you will be battling with a lot of paperwork.

You cannot just move to Italy on a whim as a non-EU citizen, you need to appyl for a residency permit and for a work permit if you want to work there. Those things are hard to get.
