Hi guys,

Does anyone know of any good sites I can register with before I go? I really want to stay in Oz for the full year but i'm scared I can't get a job anywhere. Don't care what I do, rather not a office as this is what I have done for the past 4 years but if it's the only option then i'd do it!

Any advise?

Gumtree seems to be quite popular with backpackers these days!

Hi Claire,
Are you just planning or heading to Australia soon?

Well, there are some websites useful for you.

I suggest -snip-.

You can download this National Harvest Guide. It will help you plan you trip and tell you where to go.

If you are coming to Australia during winter, there are some snow jobs during the snow season. The snowfields hotels or industries hire employees before the snow season and usually hope them stay the whole season. You can check out these websites:,, Mt Buller.

If you don't have a job in advance, you can try WWOOFing or Help Exchange. You do some work and exchange for room & board. In your free time, you can explore the region. You’ll learn real Australian life style from the host. It would give you a good chance to experience Australia and make some OZ friends and backpackers as well. It also gives you time to learn OZ culture without blowing everything.

Hope my information would be useful for you. Have a nice trip.:)

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
