the astronomical clock is a bunch of bullshit. it's more fun to watch the stupid crowd of tourists moan and laugh as they are let down when the clock strikes.

Have to agree with LaurenLolz - don't waste any time watching the Astronomical Clock - Very disappointing!! (We were part of the 'stupid crowd of letdown tourists') Defo head for the Jewish Cemetery and Museum - very touching, no matter what your politics or beliefs!!. If you can manage it, visit the Charles Bridge VERY early in morn - empty and atmospheric!!

I would personally limit pure Prague experience to 3 days (far enough, believe me) and try to make some trips - Cesky Krumlov is a good advise (wonderful artist town), but I would also reccomend Kutna Hora (1 hour drive) and further Hradec Kralove are really fantastic cities with more Czech climate that international and expensive Prague.

Make sure you try some typical Czech gastronomy - svickova (meat in creamy sauce with dumplings), gulas and beer of course are a must.

You will definitely need Czech crowns on the spot.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
