Angkor park: good, clean and very close to Old Market/Pub st
Capitol GH: in Phnom Penh....!
Earthwalker: OK but far away, not walking distance from center

Have a good trip

Travel agencies in the Pham Ngu Lao area should be open early. Talk to them...

Quoting janicesila

and you mean to say we need to have a visa to enter cambodia though im from philippines, ASEAN country? thanks..
by the way, capitol bus company offers $4.5 fare from PP to SR.. is that ok?

Janice,
You do not need a Cambodia visa as you are ASEAN. That saves you $20 right away. Sinh Cafe & Capitol GH are affiliated. Family I think. I ride them because Sinh Cafe has the best buses in VN and I stay close to Capitol GH when in PP. I would get a taxi from the airport to De Tham St. The street stays open all night long. Get a cheap room and few hours sleep or party a few hours and buy your ticket when the travel shops open. I would just go to PP your first day. There is enough to see for 1-2 days, then up to SR. If you ride with Sinh/Capitol they stop right at their GH. Many other places an easy walk if you choose not to stay at Capitol GH. They run tours to everything you might want to see in PP. Then up to SR. Mekong Express probably has the best buses PP-SR, fare $10. If you choose Mekong Express, I would stay down by the river as that is where they leave. The easy way is to ride Sinh/Capitol bus from HCM to PP, stay in the area, ride Capitol bus up to SR, stay at Popular GH. Popular is owned by the Capitol GH brothers. All GHs will have transport and guides to Angkor. A tuk tuk is perfect for the 2 of you.

I have heaps of photos of HCM & PP in my gallery. Send me a PM if you have questions.

how's the weather in cambodia? do we need to have an A/C room or just fan will do? thanks...

16. Posted by vegasmike6 (Travel Guru 3562 posts) 5y

As you would expect, Cambo weather is either hot/wet or hot/dry. I usually got by with a fan room, but did spring for an A/C room in PP my last trip. It was so hot in April that an A/C room was really a blessing. With 2 people, an A/C room is not much more per day, per person. I would decide once there. If you find it just too hot to bear, then an air con room is worth the money.

Good luck with your planning.
