I am planning to travel to the "touristy" Greek Islands (ie. Santorini, Mykonos, Ios, Paros, Hydra etc etc) in early to mid September this year. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on whether it is best to pre book accommodation before we leave, or whether it is easy enough just to play it by ear.

Ideally i dont want to be bound to an itinery due to accommodation bookings but I dont want to be wandering around the island half the day because all accommodation is booked out!! I heard that the UK holidays are june/july/august so I'm hoping that by Sep it will be quieter.

Any advice welcome!!

From Australia,

hi there,

there is no need to pre-book anything, as September
is usually very quiet. Just go there and shop around a bit
before you choose.

Have fun,
Stratis

Yeh, I don't think it'll be too bad during Sept.

I went to Ios and stayed at a place called Far-Out Village Hotel. I had a place to myself with bathroom for 20 Euros. It wasn't bad at all. I wasn't so satisfied w/ mainland Greece, but the islands were awesome. Have fun!
