I'm sure you'll have a blast on a WHV anyway! :) And it's way more interesting to get an insider's look at the culture as opposed to just visiting it.

I've just booked my one way ticket
To NZ and OZ, arrive in Christchurch on the 13nov, spending a month in NZ, then fly over to Melbourne on 13th dec.
I have booked my Xmas and new yr accommodation for Sydney staying at wake up hostel. Apparently u have to book asap for a good hostel over Xmas and new yr as things get booked up so quickly!
Booking the OZ experience to travel up The east coast straight after new yrs day for 6-8wks, then fly bk to either Sydney or
Melbourne to work for 6-8months! Or try and find some fruit picking work.
Anyone doing the same sort of trip
As me??
Feeling very nervous but very excited at the same time!

How long did you book yourself in Sydney? I'm looking to do the same but not sure if its better to get an apartment as we would like to be in Sydney for 6 weeks. How much has the wake up hostel cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Sounds like you've got a great trip ahead!

I've booked 11nights over xmas and new yr and it cost me £313 abit expensive but well worth it as I'm sure prices will be alot more then that!

Yeah that's quite expensive. I've budgeted £30 a night for hostels in Sydney, but if it's me and my travel buddy surely it won't be £60 a night for a hostel... will it? If so, maybe we can find an apartment or flat for that kind of money.

i think it just under £30 a night, only because its the xmas and new yr peak time so i guess everything will be expensive, then im hoping prices will drop down after that!
