Hi everyone,

I'm going on my very first travelling adenture at the age of 30 in May. I am planning on starting in Thailand, then going to Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonisia and then Oz and New Zealand (apologies if I've spelt any of those wrong!).

I'm taking a career break from work and will be away for 6 months. I'm excited and scared about going on my own but know it's going to be amazing! If there is anyone out there who fancies meeting up along the way it would be great to hear from you.

Alternatively if any of you out there have been on a similar trip and have any tips or advice you'd like to share I'd love to hear it.

Nicci (female by the way!)

Hi Leona,

I know what you mean, it is scary but masively exciting too-as Vanessa says it's probably not as scary as it sounds and the whole experience of it all will be amazing!

I am hoping to be in Oz by August/Sept. At the moment I'm thinking of starting in Cairnes and working my way down to Melbourne. Went to a travel show a wk ago and got loads of info so been reading up on that and hoping to book within the next couple of weeks aarrrggghh!!! : )

I'll keep you posted....when are u booking and how long r u thinking of going out for??

Hi,

I had my first sabbatical last year at the age of 30, to Latin America. Best thing I ever did - so far anyway! I only had 6 weeks off but it's given me the confidence to quit my steady job (that after 6 years i've realised I hate!) and go travelling again this summer!

Going to Laos in late August to teach, then am arriving in Cairns on 11th Sept on a WHV, working my way down to Melbourne for up to a year x

Tats a gr8 trip. Traveling alone will be a great experience and I suggest you set reminders for your schedules everyday as you wont have anyone alongside to suggest anything you forget.

Just make sure you don't totally trust the strangers whom you might travel along with, Happy journey
